Build a better plate
You do not need special or imported food to eat well. Local vegetables, beans, fish and fruit make a balanced plate at low cost.
- Half the plate: vegetables and fruit
- A quarter: beans, fish, chicken or eggs
- A quarter: rice, corn, plantain or bread — smaller portions
- Drink water instead of soft drinks and juices
Moving more
Any movement counts. Walking, yard work, dancing and sport all add up. Build to 150 minutes a week, spread over most days.
