Statement on water quality monitoring

The Ministry confirms that routine water quality sampling continues across public supplies in all districts.

Where a sample falls outside the standard, the affected supply is re-tested, the operator is notified, and precautionary advice is issued to the community while corrective action is taken.

Residents who notice a change in the colour, smell or taste of their water should contact their district public health office.
